Events
Once again, the Friends of the Germantown Library will be presenting "Come in from the Cold." This event will take place Saturdays in January and Feburary from 1-3 in the lobby at the library. Come and hear live perfomances by local musicians from 1-2. Refreshments of hot cider and cookies will be provided. These events are open to the public and are for all ages.
This is a fun project to make for a gift or for your home. We will be using regular sewing techniques as well as some quilting for this frame. Make it into a banner for a wall or door or picture frame to use for family pictures. Bring 10 - 10" scraps or larger to make your one of a kind frame.
In March the Adult Book Club takes a walk on the lighter side and will be reading The Corset Diaries by Katie MacAlister. The book is now available at the library. Book Club will meet on Tuesday, March 13th at 6:30 pm. Click on the story for more information about this delightful book.
Fun to make. You can bring in scraps of fabric to use as your binding or ready made binding but 1 fat quarter for the project will be fine. Ribbon and elastic to use as a tie to close around your mug and to use inside to keep items separated.. A strip of long velcro could be used to close around the mug. You can use the new mesh material for the pockets and cover edges with binding material or use your fabric doubled over and avoid binding another piece. Bring along your mug, fabric, matching thread, about 12 inches of elastic, scissors and sewing machine. Fun to do.
This group will continue to meet the third Monday of wach month through June at 6:30 pm beginning. This group is free and open to the community.
For questions, please call the library at 937.855.4001
